The Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland is the representative organisation for all archaeologists throughout the island of Ireland.


The National Monuments Service (NMS) are responsible for the care of archaeological monuments in the Republic of Ireland. Their website includes a database of all monuments recorded by the Archaeological Survey of Ireland.

The National Museum of Ireland is Ireland’s premier cultural institution and home to the greatest collections of Irish material heritage, culture and natural history in the world, and its free to visit!

In Northern Ireland the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) are responsible for the care of archaeological monuments. A link to the Northern Ireland Sites and Monuments record can be found on their site.
